Mouse Models

Site-specific recombinase (SSR) system is widely used in genetically modification, especially the generation for conditional KO and inducible KO mouse models. For making it more efficient and easier, mouse models with special functions have been generated, such as tissue-specifically expressing Cre, inducible expressing Cre, Split-Cre, floxed (target gene were flanked by loxP sites) mouse, et al.

For assisting our global customers making better breakthrough in their research areas, Creative Biogene offers various of mouse models based on site-specific recombinase systems.

  • Floxed Mouse: Floxed mouse models provide a way to study gene function in a controlled and tissue-specific manner, allowing researchers to investigate the roles of specific genes in development, physiology, and disease.
  • Reporter Mouse: Reporter mouse models generated with SSR technology offer a means to visualize and study gene expression patterns in a tissue-specific or cell-specific manner. They are invaluable tools in deciphering the intricacies of developmental processes and disease mechanisms.
  • Inducible Mouse: Inducible mouse models generated with SSR technology are genetically engineered mouse strains that allow for controlled and temporal regulation of gene expression in specific tissues or cell types.
  • Recombinase-expressing Mouse: Recombinase-expressing mouse models are genetically modified mouse models that express Cre recombinase tissue-specifically or temporal-specifically.

STOCK Gt(ROSA)26Sortm1(CAG-Brainbow2.1)Cle/J (Cat. No.: CEMM-07250281) Inquiry
R26R-Confetti mice are available on a congenic C57BL/6J background and that congenic version will replace this mixed background strain in the near future. The R26R-Confetti conditional allele has a CAG promoter followed by a floxed-STOP cassette and the Brainbow 2.1 construct all targeted into the Gt(ROSA)26Sor locus. The R26R-Confetti allele functions as a stochastic multicolor Cre recombinase reporter of multiple fluorescent proteins from a single genomic locus. These R26R-Confetti mice allow a way to label and distinguish individual / adjacent cells with nuclear localized, membrane-targeted, or cytoplasmic fluorescent proteins in cre recombined cells.

C57BL/6J-Rbpjem2Lutzy/J (Cat. No.: CEMM-07250981) Inquiry
Rbpjflox is a CRISPR/Cas9-generated mutant of the recombination signal binding protein for immunoglobulin kappa J region gene with loxP sites flanking exon 4. Exposure to Cre recombinase deletes the floxed sequence, creating a null allele. This may be useful for Cre-lox studies of NOTCH signaling and T cell development.

B6.Cg-Pvalbtm1(cre)Arbr Fxnem2Lutzy Fxnem2.1Lutzy/J (Cat. No.: CEMM-07250753) Inquiry
Fxnflox/null::PV-Cre mice have a Cre-conditional frataxin allele, global knockout frataxin allele and parvalbumin neuron-specific Cre recombinase knock-in allele - useful to study Friedreich's Ataxia. The Fxnflox/null::PV-Cre genotype is compound heterozygous at the frataxin locus (floxed exon 2 and global KO on respective homologous chromosomes) and heterozygous for the PV-Cre knock-in allele. Due to early-onset ataxia, Fxnflox/null::PV-Cre are distributed at 4-7 weeks of age. In addition, we distribute the phenotypically-normal parental lines: i.: C57BL/6J-congenic Fxnem2Lutzy (homozygous for floxed exon 2) ii.: C57BL/6-congenic Pvalbtm1(cre)Arbr Fxnem2.1Lutzy (heterozygous for both PV-Cre knock-in and frataxin global KO). These breeders produce the affected Fxnflox/null::PV-Cre genotype at a 1/4 frequency.

B6.FVB(129S6)-Tg(Drd1a-cre)AGsc/KndlJ (Cat. No.: CEMM-07250795) Inquiry
D1-Cre YAC transgenic mice have Cre recombinase expressed from the mouse Drd1a promoter. The spatio-temporal pattern of Cre expression in dopaminoceptive neurons is reported to closely recapitulate that of the endogenous Drd1a gene in embryonic and adult stages.

B6(Cg)-Dbpem1Drw Tyrc-2J/J (Cat. No.: CEMM-07251082) Inquiry
Albino DbpKI; tyr conditional circadian reporter mice express firefly luciferase upon Cre recombinase-mediated excision of a loxP-flanked destabilized GFP (d2EGFP) cassette. This CRISPR/Cas9-generated knock-in allele enables the in vivo and ex vivo assessment of bioluminescent rhythms in specific cellular populations.

C57BL/6-Agpat5tm1Thor/J (Cat. No.: CEMM-07251127) Inquiry
Exon 3 of the mouse Agpat5 (1-acylglycerol-3-phosphate O-acyltransferase 5 (lysophosphatidic acid acyltransferase, epsilon) gene is flanked by lox2272/loxP sites in these Agpat5flox mice. Cre recombinase-mediated excision of the floxed region results in a knock-out allele and expression of a tdTomato reporter useful in studies of agouti-related peptide neurons and their roles in insulin-induced hypoglycemia sensing and glucagon secretion.

B6.129-Fktntm1Kcam/J (Cat. No.: CEMM-07250419) Inquiry
These mice carry a floxed allele of Fktn (fukutin). When crossed with a Cre strain, tissue-specific knockouts of the gene can be generated. Crosses with Myf5 (myogenic factor 5) and Ckm (creatine kinase, muscle) Cre strains generate dystroglycanopathy mice representative of a spectrum of mild to severe patient diseases.

129S/SvEv-Hcn1tm1Kndl/J (Cat. No.: CEMM-07250660) Inquiry
The exon encoding the pore region and S6 transmembrane domain of the Hcn1 gene are flanked by loxP sites in this HCN1 strain. Cre-mediated excision of the floxed region creates a knockout allele. This mutant mouse strain may be useful in studies of learning, memory, neurophysiology, and Parkinson's Disease.
