Introduction into Mouse Models Generated by T-SSR System

Site-specific recombinase system is widely used in generating rat models, which have been widely used in biomedical research to study gene function and disease mechanisms. These models are created by introducing DNA constructs containing recombinase recognition sites, called loxP sites, into the genome of rats. By crossing these rats with other rats expressing recombinase enzymes, such as Cre or Flp, specific genes or regions of DNA can be selectively deleted, modified, or activated in a tissue-specific manner.
