B6.129S4-Grk5tm2Rjl/J

Cat. No.: CEMM-07250208

These mice carry a floxed allele of Grk5. When bred to mice with a cre recombinase gene, exons 7 and 8 of the targeted gene are deleted in the cre-expressing tissues in the offspring mice. This strain may be useful in mechanistic studies of muscarinic receptors and Alzheimer's disease.

Molecular Note
Exons 7 and 8 were flanked by loxP sites and a neomycin resistance cassette followed by a loxP site was placed in intron 8. Transient transfection with Cre recombinase excised the neomycin resistance cassette, leaving exons 7 and 8 floxed.
