B6.129-Ank3tm2.1Bnt/J
Cat. No.: CEMM-07250758
Common Name: Ank3 flox
Exons 22 and 23 of the mouse Ank3 (ankyrin 3, epithelial) gene are flanked by loxP sites in this conditional mutant strain. Cre-mediated excision of the floxed region results in a specific knock-out of the 190-, 270-, and 480-kDa isoforms of the gene that are required for membrane protein interactions. This strain may be useful in studies of cell membrane formation and maintenance.

Molecular Note |
A loxP site was inserted upstream of exon 22. An FRT flanked neomycin resistance cassette with a 3' loxp site was inserted downstream of exon 23. Flp-mediated recombination removed the neomycin resistance cassette and left exons 22 and 23 floxed.
