B6;129-Thtm1(cre/Esr1)Nat/J
Cat. No.: CEMM-07250116
Common Name: TH-IRES-creER
These knock-in mice express a tamoxifen-inducible cre recombinase. When induced, cre activity is observed in dopaminergic neurons in the brain.

Molecular Note |
An IRES-CreER cassette, a tetracycline resistance gene, and an FRT flanked neomycin selection marker were all knocked into the 3' UTR of the gene. The neomycin selection marker was removed by crossing to a C57BL/6 background Flp recombinase strain. Flp was then bred out of the line. When crossed with a Tg(CAG-Bgeo/ALPP)1Lbe reporter strain and given tamoxifen, Cre expression was detected in a sparse number of dopaminergic neurons in the brain.
