Mouse Models

Site-specific recombinase (SSR) system is widely used in genetically modification, especially the generation for conditional KO and inducible KO mouse models. For making it more efficient and easier, mouse models with special functions have been generated, such as tissue-specifically expressing Cre, inducible expressing Cre, Split-Cre, floxed (target gene were flanked by loxP sites) mouse, et al.

For assisting our global customers making better breakthrough in their research areas, Creative Biogene offers various of mouse models based on site-specific recombinase systems.

  • Floxed Mouse: Floxed mouse models provide a way to study gene function in a controlled and tissue-specific manner, allowing researchers to investigate the roles of specific genes in development, physiology, and disease.
  • Reporter Mouse: Reporter mouse models generated with SSR technology offer a means to visualize and study gene expression patterns in a tissue-specific or cell-specific manner. They are invaluable tools in deciphering the intricacies of developmental processes and disease mechanisms.
  • Inducible Mouse: Inducible mouse models generated with SSR technology are genetically engineered mouse strains that allow for controlled and temporal regulation of gene expression in specific tissues or cell types.
  • Recombinase-expressing Mouse: Recombinase-expressing mouse models are genetically modified mouse models that express Cre recombinase tissue-specifically or temporal-specifically.

Our Mouse Models

B6;129-Gt(ROSA)26Sortm11(CAG-tdTomato*, -GFP*)Nat/J (Cat. No.: CEMM-07250831) Inquiry
Cre-mediated excision of a floxed stop cassette enables this Cre reporter strain to selectively express myc-tagged, membrane-anchored tdTomato fluorescent marker and hemagglutinin-tagged nuclear histone H2B-GFP from a CAG promoter.

B6.129-Gt(ROSA)26Sortm5.1(CAG-Sun1/sfGFP)Nat/MmbeJ (Cat. No.: CEMM-07250837) Inquiry
These Sun1-tagged mice, backcrossed to C57BL/6J, are used in the INTACT (isolation of nuclei tagged in specific cell types) method for immunopurification of nuclei. Cre-dependent removal of a floxed STOP cassette allows expression of the SUN1 fusion protein at the inner nuclear membrane in targeted cell types. These nuclei can be immunopurified with antibodies against GFP or MYC for transcriptional and epigenetic studies.

B6.129P2(Cg)-Il4/Il13tm1.1Lky/J (Cat. No.: CEMM-07250861) Inquiry
Il4/Il13flox mutant mice, backcrossed to C57BL/6J for more than ten generations, harbor loxP-flanked sequences that span the adjacent genes Il4 and Il13, enabling the conditional disruption of both genes simultaneously via Cre-induced recombination. There are no overt phenotypic differences between this C57BL/6J backcrossed line and the original BALB/c background line (see).

STOCK Tenm3em2.1Luo/J (Cat. No.: CEMM-07250887) Inquiry
Exon 4 of the mouse Tenm3 gene is flanked by loxP sites in this Ten3flox conditional mutant strain. Cre-mediated excision of the floxed region results in a knock-out allele.

B6.129(SJL)-Pick1tm1.1Rlh/J (Cat. No.: CEMM-07251022) Inquiry
Exon 3 of the mouse Pick1 gene is flanked by loxP sites in these Pick1loxP mutant mice. Cre recombinase-mediated excision of the floxed region results in a frame shift/knock-out allele that has been useful in studies of calcium-permeable AMPA receptor plasticity (CARP).

NOD.Cg-Tg(CAG-cre/Esr1*)5Amc/J (Cat. No.: CEMM-07251001) Inquiry
When these CAGGCre-ERTM mice are bred with mice carrying a floxed target gene, tamoxifen-inducible Cre-mediated recombination results in deletion of the floxed sequences in widespread cells or tissues of the offspring, including developing embryos and cultured cells derived from transgenic mice.

STOCK Tenm3tm1(cre)Luo/J (Cat. No.: CEMM-07250886) Inquiry
Ten3cre knock-in/knock-out mice express cre recombinase from the mouse Tenm3 (teneurin transmembrane protein 3) promoter.

B6.129-Tac2tm1.1(cre)Qima/J (Cat. No.: CEMM-07250410) Inquiry
Tac2-Cre knock-in/knockout mice have endogenous gene expression abolished and Cre recombinase expression directed to Tac2-expressing cells by the endogenous promoter/enhancer elements of the tachykinin 2 locus. These mice may be useful to generate conditional mutations for studying gain or loss of function and/or mapping in dorsal root ganglia, the dorsal horn of the spinal cord, and parts of the brain.

FVB/NJ-Tg(Ube3a)5Mpan/J (Cat. No.: CEMM-07251067) Inquiry
Ube3a OFF#5 BAC transgenic mice [also called "Ube3a-2×(untagged)"] express functional, floxed Ube3a protein in addition to endogenous Ube3a. This increased Ube3a expression models maternal 15q11-13 duplication (dup15) and triplication (isodicentric extranumerary chromosome, idic15) that is associated with 1-3% of cases of human autism spectrum disorder.
