B6.129(Cg)-Phox2btm1Rth/J

Cat. No.: CEMM-07250564

In this targeted mutant strain, exon 3 of the mouse Phox2b gene is flanked by loxP sites and exon 3 of the human PHOX2B gene, modified with an 8 bp deletion and EGFP marker, has been placed downstream. Cre-mediated excision of the floxed exon knocks out expression of the mouse form of protein, but allows the mutant human form and EGFP to be expressed.

Molecular Note
Exon 3 of the mouse Phox2b gene was flanked by loxP sites. An FRT flanked neomycin cassette, human exon 3 (modified with an 8 bp deletion, GGCCCGGG) and associated with an EGFP reporter, was inserted downstream. Flp-mediated recombination removed the selection cassette.
