STOCK Trpm2tm1.1(icre)Jsmn/J

Cat. No.: CEMM-07250745

Trpm2-Cre knock-in mice have the endogenous Trpm2 locus directing expression of Cre recombinase to 97% of TRPM2-expressing neurons in the preoptic area of the hypothalamus. These mice are useful in studies of the fever response and thermoregulation.

Molecular Note
A targeting vector containing a T2A viral 2A peptide, iCre recombinase sequence, T2A viral 2A peptide, multicistronic element (derived from insect Thosea asigna virus 2A), and FRT site flanked NEO cassette was inserted upstream of the Trpm2 gene stop codon. The resulting chimeric animals were crossed to FLPeR recombinase (Gt(ROSA)26Sor) expressing females to excise the FRT site flanked NEO cassette.
