STOCK Tg(Gsx1-cre)6Wql/J
Cat. No.: CEMM-07250735
Common Name: Gsx1cre
These Gsx1cre transgenic mice express Cre recombinase under the control of the Gsx1 promoter and may be useful for generating conditional mutations for studying gain/loss of function or fate mapping in Gsx1 expressing neurons.

Site of Expression |
Cre recombinase is expressed primarily in the dorsal spinal cord and hindbrain beginning around E13.5. Cre recombinase activity is also detected in Gsx1-expressing cells in the spinal cord ventral horn and dorsal root ganglia.

Molecular Note |
The mouse bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) BX1725 (RP24-352K2) containing the entire Gsx1 gene, was modified by fusing a Cre recombinase coding sequence into the first encoding exon of the Gsx1 gene. The resulting transgenic mice from founder line 6 were crossed to Create the line.

Breeding Considerations |
When maintaining a live colony, hemizygous mice may be bred together, to wildtype siblings, or to C57BL/6J inbred mice. The Donating Investigator has not attempted to make this strain homozygous.
