STOCK Tg(Eno2-cre/ERT2)1Pohlk/J

Cat. No.: CEMM-07250479

Nse-CreERT2 transgenic mice express the tamoxifen inducible cre/ERT2 fusion gene in cerebellar lobular granule cells and in a few hippocampal dentate gyrus granule cells as directed by the rat Eno2 (enolase 2, gamma, neuronal) promoter. Cre-ERT2 fusion gene activity is inducible by the administration of tamoxifen.

Molecular Note
A transgenic construct containing the Cre/ERT2 (Cre recombinase and estrogen receptor 1 tamoxifen binding domain fusion gene) under the control of the rat Eno2 (enolase 2, gamma, neuronal) promoter, was injected into fertilized FVB/N mouse eggs. Founder line 1 was subsequently established. The mice were crossed to mice on a mixed background, containing C57BL/6, 129, and ICR.

Breeding Considerations
When maintaining a live colony, hemizygous mice may be bred together, to wildtype siblings, or to C57BL/6J inbred mice. The Donating Investigator has not attempted to make the strain homozygous.
