B6;FVB-Tg(Lfng-cre/ERT2)1Mmsa/J

Cat. No.: CEMM-07251026

Common Name: Lfng-CreERT2
Lfng-CreERT2 transgenic mice have a cre/ERT2 fusion gene under direction of the mouse LFNG O-fucosylpeptide 3-beta-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase (Lfng, also known as Lunatic fringe) promoter/enhancer sequences. These mice retain normal endogenous Lfng expression and have tamoxifen-inducible Cre expressed in neural stem cells of the hippocampus.

Molecular Note
A targeting construct containing the Cre/ERT2 fusion gene was inserted in front of the transcription start site of the mouse Lfng gene in a BAC (Rp23-270N2). The resulting BAC transgene was microinjected into FVB/n embryos. Line numbers were not indicated. The pound symbol is used when no line is specified and/or lines are pooled.

Breeding Considerations
Mice hemizygous for this Lfng-CreERT2 transgene are viable and fertile with normal breeding, and no reported gross phenotypic or behavioral abnormalities. It has not been attempted to make this strain homozygous to date. When maintaining a live colony, hemizygous mice may be bred together, to wildtype mice from the colony or to C57BL/6J inbred mice.
