B6.Cg-Gt(ROSA)26Sortm2(CAG-PA-GFP)Rmpl/J

Cat. No.: CEMM-07251030

Common Name: H2B::PaGFP
H2B::PaGFP mice carry a photoactivatable histone H2B/green fluorescent protein fusion gene (Pa-GFP) behind a floxed STOP cassette (LSL). In the presence of Cre recombinase and photoactivation, bright nuclear fluorescence can be detected, allowing for the observation and measurement of nuclear and chromatin dynamics in vivo.

Molecular Note
The targeting vector is designed with (from 5' to 3') the CMV-IE enhancer/chicken beta-actin hybrid promoter (CAG; from the pCAGGS vector), an FRT site, a STOP cassette flanked by loxP sites, a photoactivatable green fluorescent protein (PA-GFP) fused to the human histone H2B sequence, and a woodchuck hepatitis virus post-transcriptional regulatory element (WPRE; to enhance the mRNA transcript stability).

Breeding Considerations
Both heterozygous and homozygous mice are viable and fertile with normal breeding, and no reported gross phenotypic or behavioral abnormalities. When maintaining a live colony, heterozygous mice may be bred together, to wildtype mice from the colony or to C57BL/6J inbred mice. Alternatively, homozygous mice may be bred together.
