B6.129P2(SJL)-Myliptm1.1Pton/J

Cat. No.: CEMM-07250993

Common Name: Idolf/f
Idolf/f mice have loxP sites flanking exon 2 of the myosin regulatory light chain interacting protein (Mylip) gene. Exposure to Cre recombinase removes the floxed sequence - creating a null allele. These Idolf/f mice may be useful in the study of metabolism, obesity, and appetite regulation.

Molecular Note
A cassette containing (5' to 3') a lox71 site, FRT site, loxP site, engrailed 2 splice acceptor, betal gal, neo resistance gene, polyadenylation sequence, and a second FRT site. An additional loxP site was inserted downstream of exon 2. Flp-mediated recombination removed the FRT flanked neo cassette leaving leaving only exon 2 flanked by an upstream lox71 site and a downstream loxP site.

Breeding Considerations
Both heterozygous and homozygous mice are viable and fertile with normal breeding, and no reported gross phenotypic or behavioral abnormalities. When maintaining a live colony, heterozygous mice may be bred together, to wildtype mice from the colony or to C57BL/6J inbred mice. Alternatively, homozygous mice may be bred together.
