STOCK Tg(Tph2-icre/ERT2)6Gloss/J

Cat. No.: CEMM-07250313

Common Name: TPH2-iCreER
These TPH2-iCreER transgenic mice express a tamoxifen-inducible Cre recombinase under the control of the mouse Tph2 promoter and may be useful for generating conditional mutations for studying gain or loss of function and/or fate mapping of Tph2 expressing neurons in the raphe nucleus.

Molecular Note
The mouse bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) RP23-151J17 containing Tph2, solute carrier family 6 (neurotransmitter transporter, dopamine), member 3, gene, was modified by insertion of sequence encoding iCreER at the Tph2 translation initiation ATG, and addition of a Kozak sequence upstream of the ATG. This BAC also contains the following genes: Tbc1d15, (TBC1 domain family, member 15), and AK048828. The modified BAC was used to generate the TPH2-iCreER transgene, which was microinjected into C57BL/6NTac fertilized eggs. Founder line 6 was subsequently established.
