STOCK Tg(Nr5a1-cre)7Lowl/J
Cat. No.: CEMM-07250224
Common Name: Sf1-Cre
SF1-Cre transgenic mice have Cre recombinase expression detected in steroidogenic factor-1 (SF1)-positive neurons in the ventromedial hypothalamic nucleus as well as pituitary, gonad, and adrenal tissue. These mice may be useful for generating tissue specific-targeted mutants for studies of the subset of SF1-positive neurons, obesity, metabolic and energy homeostasis, and appetite control/satiety.

Breeding Considerations |
When maintaining a live colony, transgenic mice may be bred to wildtype (non-carrier) mice from the colony or with FVB/NJ inbred mice. The Donating Investigator has not attempted to make the strain homozygous.
