C57BL/6N-Tg(Calcrl, cre)4688Nkza/J

Cat. No.: CEMM-07250488

These mice express Cre recombinase under the control of the murine calcitonin receptor-like (Calcrl) promoter. This strain represents an effective tool for generating mossy cell specific-targeted mutants.

Molecular Note
A 50.9 kb BAC containing the 5'-transcriptional regulatory region of the murine calcitonin receptor-like (Calcrl) gene was coinjected with a nuclear localization signal (nls)-Cre cDNA with an HSP70 minimal promoter, into fertilized C57BL/6NTac oocytes. A line was established from mice of founder line 4688, with insertion of the transgene and Cre cDNA occurring at a single locus.
