C57BL/6-Camk2atm1Vyb/J

Cat. No.: CEMM-07250054

Common Name: CA3 α-CaMKII KO
These floxed mutant mice possess loxP sites flanking exon 2 of the Camk2a gene. This strain may be useful for generating conditional mutations in applications related to neurological studies.

Molecular Note
A loxP site was introduced into intron 1 and an frt/loxP-flanked neo cassette was introduced to intron 2 via homologous recombination. The neo cassette was removed by transient expression of flp recombinase in correctly targeted ES cells. Resulting mutant mice carry a floxed exon 2 allele.
