B6;129S6-Adgrl2tm1Sud/J

Cat. No.: CEMM-07250495

This mouse line ("CL2") carries a set of linked heterologous Frt sites and a pair of loxP sites which can be manipulated to conditionally knockout the endogenous Lphn2 (latrophilin 2) gene through cre-mediated excision and/or express a specific Frt-flanked Lphn2 alternative transcript (NM_001081298.1) knock-in fused to mVenus green fluorescent protein.

Molecular Note
A targeting vector was designed to introduce a loxP site upstream of the first coding exon (exon 2). A segment carrying an F1 FRT site, FRT site, 1 kb of the mouse engrailed splice acceptor, 5 kb of Adgrl2 cDNA fused to mVenus green fluorescent protein, a polyA signal, FRT site, PGK-neomycin resistance cassette, tandem FRT and F1 FRT sites, and a loxP site were placed in intron 2.

Breeding Considerations
Heterozygous and homozygous "CL2" mice are viable and fertile. Knockouts of the endogenous Lphn2 gene are not viable.
