B6;129-Rims2tm1.2Schc/J

Cat. No.: CEMM-07250071

Common Name: RMF-Mouse Strain RIM2a conditional KO; UTSD#1902
When bred to Cre transgenic strains, the loxP-flanked exon 5 is deleted by Cre expression to produce a "RIM2alpha" isoform null allele. This strain may be helpful in the analysis of the function of alpha-RIMs in specific brain regions.

Molecular Note
A targeting vector was designed to flank exon 5 of the gene with loxP sites and insert an FRT flanked neomycin resistance cassette in reverse orientation in intron 4 (within the loxP sites). Mice carrying the mutation were crossed with a FLP strain on a C57BL/6 and 129 mixed background driven by an actin promoter. The neomycin cassette was excised, leaving the floxed exon.
