129S-Pafah1b1tm2Awb/J

Cat. No.: CEMM-07250092

These mice possess loxP sites flanking exons 3 through 6 of the targeted gene. When these mutant mice are bred to mice that express Cre recombinase, resulting offspring will have exons 3 through 6 deleted in the cre-expressing tissue(s). This mutant mouse strain may be useful in studies of neurological development.

Molecular Note
A floxed PGK-neo cassette was inserted into intron 2 and a third loxP site was introduced into intron 6 via homologous recombination. This allele is hypomorphic, because of disruption of transcription or splicing by the insertion of a phosphoglycerate kinase neomycin cassette from the targeting vector into the second intron.

Breeding Considerations
When maintaining a live colony, heterozygous mice may be bred together, to wildtype mice from the colony or to 129S1/SvImJ inbred mice. Alternatively, homozygotes may be bred together.
