B6.Cg-Vgftm4.1Srjs/J

Cat. No.: CEMM-07250816

Common Name: Vgfflpflox
The VGFflpflox allele has loxP sites flanking the VGF nerve growth factor inducible coding region. Removal of the floxed sequence creates a null allele. These mice may be useful for generating tissue-specific VGF-deletion for studying neuronal activity, survival and progenitor proliferation, synaptic plasticity (fear and spatial memory), BDNF/TrkB-signaling and regulating energy homeostasis/metabolism.

Molecular Note
A loxP site was inserted into the 5'UTR. Flp-mediated recombination removed an FRT flanked neomycin resistance cassette with a 3' loxP site inserted into the 3' UTR.

Breeding Considerations
When maintaining a live colony, heterozygous mice may be bred together, to wildtype mice from the colony or to C57BL/6J inbred mice. Alternatively, homozygous mice may be bred together.
