B6J.FVB(129)-Tg(Nr5a1-cre)7Lowl/RujfJ
Cat. No.: CEMM-07250957
Common Name: B6J.Cg-Tg(Nr5a1-cre)7Lowl/RujfJ
Sf1-Cre transgenic mice express Cre recombinase under the direction of the mouse Nr5a1 (nuclear receptor subfamily 5, group A, member 1) promoter. Cre expression is detected in steroidogenic factor-1 (SF1)-positive neurons in the ventromedial hypothalamic nucleus as well as pituitary, gonad, and adrenal tissue. These mice may be useful for generating tissue specific-targeted mutants for studies of the subset of SF1-positive neurons, obesity, metabolic and energy homeostasis, and appetite control/saeity. This line has been backcrossed to C57BL/6J for more than 10 generations by the donating laboratory.
